Simply contact us and request a shipping label. We will prepare the appropriate label and email it to you to print and attach to your securely packaged firearm.

This eliminates the uncertainty of arranging firearm shipping yourself and makes getting your project safely to RGS Restorations as straightforward as possible.

Before You Ship — Quick Checklist

If you are familiar with shipping firearms, this checklist may be all you need. If this is your first time, detailed packing and shipping instructions are provided below.

Make sure the firearm is completely unloaded. Do not include ammunition in the package.
Include your contact information. Please include your name, return address, telephone number, and email address.
Tell us what you would like done. Include a brief description of the work you are requesting and anything in particular you would like us to examine or address.
Include any special instructions or concerns. If we have already discussed your project, include anything you want to make sure we know when your firearm arrives.
Use our Project Information Sheet if you prefer. This form is optional and provides an easy way to include all of the information above. Fill it out on your computer and print it, or print a blank copy and complete it by hand.
Pack the firearm securely. Protect the firearm from movement and damage inside the package. Detailed packing recommendations are provided below.
Attach your shipping label. If RGS provided your prepaid UPS shipping label, print it and securely attach it to the package.
Follow the shipping instructions provided with your label. Keep your tracking information until delivery has been confirmed.

First Time Shipping a Firearm?

The detailed instructions below will walk you through packing and shipping your firearm step by step. If you have any questions or are unsure about anything, please contact us and we'll be happy to help.

How to Pack Your Firearm

A firearm should be packaged securely enough that it cannot move around inside the box or be damaged during normal handling in transit.

Make absolutely certain the firearm is unloaded. Do not include ammunition in the package.
Use a new, sturdy corrugated shipping box. Use a box large enough to properly protect and cushion the firearm and its contents.
Protect the firearm itself. Wrap or cushion the firearm to protect the wood, metal, sights, and other parts from contact or impact during shipping.
Prevent movement inside the package. Use sufficient packing material so the firearm cannot shift or move freely inside the box.
Protect loose or removable parts. If you are including magazines, bolts, grips, stocks, screws, or other separate components, wrap them individually so they cannot contact or damage the firearm.
Include your information inside the package. Place your Project Information Sheet or a written note containing your name, contact information, return address, and requested work inside the box.
Seal the package securely. Use quality packing tape on all seams and openings.

Do not place anything on the outside of the package that identifies the contents as a firearm.

What Happens After Your Firearm Arrives

Once your firearm arrives at RGS Restorations, we will personally evaluate its condition and the work you are requesting.

After the evaluation, we will contact you to discuss the project, our recommendations, and any options that may be appropriate. A firm estimate will be provided before work proceeds.

Your firearm will remain safely in our care throughout the process and will be returned to you when the completed work is ready.
